Known as "the father of modern missions," William Carey was the founder of the Baptist Missionary Society. In 1793, Carey went to India. While there God allowed him to translate the Bible into Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Arabic, Hindi, and Sanskrit.
It is our prayer to continue this great and needed work of Bible translation.
The Shekhawati Bible Translation
We're seeking the Lord's help to begin a Bible translation project that will take God's Word to the hearts of the Shekhawati people of India.
Shekhawati is a dialect of the Rajasthani language and is spoken by 3.6 million speakers in the Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar districts of Rajasthan. It has contributed a lot to the development of Rajasthani language and linguistics as a whole. Shekhawati is also the second language to 224 Bible-less, unreached and unengaged people groups (1.2 billion people).
Please pray with us, as we seek God's grace and help to enlist laborers in the epic task of taking the Bible to the unreached people of the world.
